Looking for some new boots...

I want something purpose-made for motorcycling that has all the appropriate bracing and protection, but I don't want them to look like them came off the set of Starship Troopers.

Current contenders are Icon Elsinore, Gaerne G-Adventure, and Puma Desmo.

Trying to keep it under $300 and leather is preferred.

Anything else I should be looking at?

Chippewa is another US company that features steel-toed Vibram soled boots under $300. I have a pair of engineers that have served me pretty well. They have taken a while to break in, but I think that also means they should last as well.

Any particular models of boots I should be looking at? Ankle bracing or armor of some sort is a big plus.

Aerostitch combat & combat lites. A little over your budget, but by all accounts excellent boots. On my list for the day I can afford (lottery) to sport tour, along with one of their suits.

hey sonreir!

i bought myself for christmas this pair of new timbs:

http://shop.timberland.com/product/index.jsp?productId=15691146

i really got into the whole boots theme and found out that these are the best price/value combo.Redwings cost in Europe around 500 euro (!!) and are waaaaayyyy overdesigned for riding purposes only.
redwings are great working boots and last a life long, but the front profile is way too high for shifting (no feeling whatsoever)

these timbs were great during the winter, used them as daily pair of shoes, are neither too hot or too cold and in my view they look great.

they are half the price then the redwings.

hope you´ll find your pair!

Another good choice for actual motorcycle boots, with all the protection needed is Bates Leathers, and they look the part too with semi-reasonable prices.

I'm contemplating getting these because they're so cheap and would be fine as workboots if I don't like them on the bike:

Seems pretty sturdy, but no ankle guards or anything. Anyone happen to have experience with Wolverine boots?
