AMF Harley-Davidson SS250 Streettracker

Hi,

I have a '76 AMF Harley-Davidson SS250 and a '78 AMF Harley-Davidson SST250, both in pieces. The SST250 is all original, so will restore, but the '76 is missing a couple of parts so I decided to create a street tracker instead.

Here is my Illustrator mock-up for my SS250 Street Tracker project. I have another copy w/ lights etc., but this captures the basic outline. Wheels / forks / brakes are Yam XS400 junk and a Jemco flat track pipe. Aftermarket modified flat-track seat unit should work.

Colors are are little off for the web - more of a teal blue / green is planned. I'll post the street version after I decide on the final lights.

I also have a (preferred) version w/ a hybrid twin AMF / Yam 350 cc (Jemco pipes on both sides etc.). This would involve grafting 2 ea. 175cc SS piston port AMF heads to an RD350/400 crankcase to take advantage of the 6-speed. AMF did not release the 2-stroke twins to the public - only racing.

Cheers,

Ian B.
