Red sludge in gas tank????

Ok so my tank has this red sludge that drips out. Its clogged the petcock pretty good, and Id like to find a way to clean it out before I go through the trouble of re-building my petcock. The tank was supposedly treated and I have a feeling it was either done wrong or I just need to flush it out. Any ideas on what it is or what I could do to lean it out? Ill try and take some pic if needed

Flush it out with a bit of fresh fuel. Take off the fuel tap, drain as much of the sludge as you can, then pour some fresh fuel in, cover the tap hole and cap and shake it. Drain and repeat a few times until all the crap is gone.
