Is it possible to remove Valve Guides in a home gargage or should it be done by proffessionals in a Shop
Let heat the head in the oven tapping the old ones out installing the new one after getting them out of the frezzer...just a thought

You need a drift to get them in and out without damage. I have swapped out a few sets over the years, but it's rare that they wear out. Why do you want to change yours?

You can do it exactly as you describe, but like Teazer said you need the special drift.

Heat is your friend - put the head in an oven at 200 Farenheit for 15-30 minutes before driving the guides out/in. Put the new guides and the valve guide driver in the freezer for at least an hour before driving them in.

If you're planning on reusing guides (not recommended if it can be avoided), you'll need a valve guide driver to get the old ones out without damaging them. You can make a DIY driver if you have a spare valve guide and a spare valve stem you're willing to sacrifice. (Can explain further if needed.)

Keep in mind that you may need to ream the new guide and possibly regrind the valve seat (otherwise, the valve may not seat correctly). If it tests out with acetone with no leaks after lapping, you might be able to get away without this, but if you plan on running the motor hard, it's not advisable.
