need carb advice changing from cv to vm

so i have a 82 yamaha sr250 that i want to change the carb on. the stock carb is a mikuni bs34. what carb should i change to? i want a vm cause my diaphragm is shot and i cant seem to find the right one. Plus i prefer not to have a cv type carb. there seems to be some cheap ($100 new) mikuni 34mm vm carbs on ebay. would they be a good route to go? i want to run pods and possibly a different pipe down the line but not right away. \just not sure if those carbs flow close to what the stock one does. thanks for any info you can offer

they say the vm32s flow as good as bs34s do, a 34 would work, but might have less bottom end, id go a vm32, and you can get one for 75 new,
