So, My engine was rebuilt and never started. It also needs oil. So, how much oil goes in? What should I do before I start it to make sure it doesn't gernade on me? Be easy, I'm an engine noob!

oh yeah, and is it safe to assume that clutch and throttle cables sold for a CB550/CB750 would work on this too?

Cables should be ok, at least I'm pretty sure they should. You should be able to find 500 specific parts or at least confirm compatibility.

Just a top end rebuild? Did you put lube on the cam etc. when assembling it? Will likely take more oil than during a typical change - manual should specify. Double check torque on head and all bolts are tight, oil in, squirt some engine oil in the tappet covers if you like to pre-lube the top end and you should be good to go.

Do you have a manual? All of your specs are listed in it. If you dont, order one before you do anything else.
