Cheers, Tango started life as a bog standard Silver CBR1100XX but I always liked orange and thought I would also give her a nose job :)

I don't know anything about that model, but it looks like it could be 180 lbs of fun on a tight and twisty road.

This brought back so many memories. I had one in this color scheme. Now, by todays standards these are quite mild, but in their day, these were insane bikes. These and the GPZ 550 ruled the hills. Not as fast as the litre bikes, but out handled most everything in sight, and were quick enough to hang with the big dogs. My friends actually started making me ride at the back of the pack, because they got tired of chasing me down, and I'm far from being Reg Pridmore.... Oh, mine had the bikini fairing. I LOVED that bike....

God I love stories like this! I'm only 18 years old and I'm obsessed with these older bikes, especially when they carry such an influential history. I bought the bike off of the original owner in the fall for $250 and just finished making it road worth again. Got it plated and took it for its first ride last week. What I love most about it so far is the split personality. Under 6000 rpm the engine is butter smooth and tame. But as soon as it comes on cam it just absolutely rips right up to 10'000 rpm redline, and the sound is intoxicating. I won't be getting rid of this one any time soon.

Daily beater. The only "modern" bike in my stash but it sure is nice on those long haul days when you just want to get lost. 1995 r1100rs with an r1150 motor, GS bars and handguards, touring screen, bags, and who knows what else. Picked it up cheap and made it an all day comfort bike. I love it.
