Changing from Dot 5 to Dot 4

For my upcoming rearset swap from stock pegs on my Kawi KZ650 to 2004 GSXR600 pegs, I will need to change from a DOT 5 fluid in my caliper to a DOT 4.
I will be using my current caliper, and maybe the braided line as well, which has been running/using DOT 5.
The GSXR master cylinder, lines and resevoir use DOT 4.
I will be cleaning out the braided line and caliper, using brake cleaner. I will also replace the piston seal and dust seal, as well as any crush wasers on the lines.

If anyone has any tips on cleaning out the caliper and line, please add your comments.

Clean out the old fluid with rubbing alcohol available from any drug store. I use a rubber ball squirter to flush out the lines. There may be pits and deposits on the piston and caliper. Use a non-metal scouring pad to clean this, I use the small oval blue ones (can't remember what they're called). Don't use steel wool on the caliper, it may scratch the soft aluminum cylinder. There's an o-ring seal piston seal groove in the caliper. I use a Dremel with the radial nylon brush attachment to clean this out. Don't use the wire brush or you may scratch the groove.

this is all i could find

one article says, if you convert to dot5, you can switch back to dot4 if it's done within a few months. see "BMW brake fluid flushing":
http://www.reptilesmagazine.com/mcn/downtimefiles/DTfiles0805.pdf

the other article says, once you convert to dot5, just keep it dot5:
http://www.britcycle.com/Manuals/DOT5.htm

if the system is going to be flushed, both articles suggest flushing with dot3/4.
