Head resurfacing question

My head surface is not warped..Just a few nicks here and there. Maybe just a few passes with some 320 and a new gasket. It wasn't leaking before. Guess I am OCD

Do you have a bench grinder?

Hit it with copper, skim off the first coat with acetone on a chunk of t shirt over a credit card or equivalent leaving the copper in the lows ("nicks and scratches") and then shoot it with copper again before applying the gasket...

Nope never tried it but it sounds good

You can get a copper gasket made. They're really good for morphing to the the right gaps.

Copper gaskets are very finicky. I prefer them, but make sure your prep is thorough or they will leak.

Anneal the gasket, dry it thoroughly, then spray it down with Permatex Copper a few minutes before the install. Both jugs and head will need spotless mating surfaces.

Thanks Sonreir ! This is only the second engine I have ever been into in my life. Never too late to learn.

Get gaskets from Lani at
http://www.coppergaskets.us/
He like to talk to people using his stuff and has templates for stock or modified 360's (378cc motors)
Get a thin copper base gasket as well as head gasket ;)
