Anyone running the Cognito Moto Airbox?

Now that I have the airbox out of my 1981 Honda CB750K I'm loathe to put it back in - ugly as a blind cobbler's thumb. But I've also (repeatedly) read that messing with the air intake can be opening up a real can of worms.

That said, I really like the look of Cognito Moto's airbox -

- and was wondering if anyone was running one on their dohc? I understand that a significant amount of adjustment needs to be done on the jets to get things working well, but would love to hear from anyone that has these bad boys hooked up and what their feedback is. I'm running the stock Keihin carbs.

Many thanks, shiny side up

That is not a true airbox, its bassically one filter for 4 carbs. It looks like a Henry Abe filter replica. I have no experience with either but there was a discussion over at KZR about the breadbox filter and apparently they work ok. An airbox works to prevent turbulence from entering the carbs, this will not do that. Looks cool though. http://kzrider.com/forum/3-carburetor/532117-pods-vs-henry-abe-air-cleaner-the-bread-box

As with any change in intake or exhaust you're likely going to have to tune your carbs to compensate for the modifications. You may run into similar tuning issues as with a good quality set of pods, but no challenge that a little trial and error can't overcome. Like doc says, it's not a true airbox, more a giant single pod. I switched from pods to the Steel Dragon box (essentially the same as Cognito but doesn't look as good IMO) on my SOHC and it seemed like I lost a little of my midrange. Could have been tuned out I'm sure but didn't get around to it before I pulled the motor.
