1972 CB350 Wrong rear foot brake?

So I put my bike together and I was twerking some final adjustments and noticed my foot brake doesn't seem to have enough clearance between the frame and engine to be pushed down very far. I have had around 3 or 4 different CB,CLs of different years in the past, and parts floating around. My question is, has anyone else noticed this and 1. is it just a very tight tolerance 2. are the brake pedals different on the early 70 late 60s models? Also I looked at the schematic online and it looks to be the right brake lever. Thanks!

I just want to be clear I wasn't "twerking" my bike I was "tweaking" ...there was never at any time any "twerking" happening....
