Front wheel alignment?

Been Around the Block
I just replaced the fork seals on my 74 CB360, wasn't too bad of a job (thankfully). I was putting everything back together tonight, and noticed that my front wheel was a little out of alignment. I loosened forks a little and did my best to eyeball it.

Is there a better way to make sure I am lined up?

Got some string?

I use this method to check the alignment on my rear wheel when adjusting the chain. But it'll work on either end of the bike.
For the front, just get the bars centered and tweak the forks until the wheel lines up.

Thanks! How freely should my wheel rotate (by hand)? Trying to get the front pads set to the right distance from the caliper.

I usually just get things snug and do the old bicycle trick of putting the wheel between my knees and twist as needed.

It should rotate freely with just a slight drag from the brake.
