Extending R6 rear shock for XV 750 virago

I'm building an XV750 and have an R6 shock to fit.
It is too short.
Is there a product to extend or a good link to how to fabricate an extension?
Thanks for any help.

Hey that was my first bike. I don't know how you would do it but I wish you the best of luck. Doc Chop (Greg hagerman) built a sweet virago cafe and I'm prettt sure he swapped the monoshock. You could try seeing what he used.

http://www.projection-components.co.uk/r6-shock-adapter-fits-all-06-on-r6-shocks-17-p.asp search around, these are fairly common for using the r6 shocks on bikes like the FZR.

Or simply sell that R6 shock to someone else and get an XT600 rear shock. Perfect length, just the lower bushing needs either replacing with the XV750 bushing or just a little bit extra as it's only 2mm larger than the XV one.

If you want to raise the rear get a pre-89 rear shock, if you want stock height get a later one. Spring rate is perfect for one person and acceptable for two-up-riding. (And yes, I speak from personal experience...)
