That vapor blast job on your parts is making me rethink all my available options. That came out looking very good. I’ll have to see if there are any local places here that do that.
I’m in the midst of an intensive study session for work but I squeezed in a little time in the shop today to decompress my mind a bit. Doesn’t look like much but the top triple is finalized. Completely had to be reworked to work with the DR neck and stem. Nice and solid.
Stole a couple of hours between studying for my sanity and got the bottom end put together. Tightened up the balancer chain and threw in a brand new Barnett. Pitch and springs. She cleaned up good for an old junky swapmeet motor.
Blasted the XR250L rear hub and sprocket carrier today and put on a nice coat of antique bronze powder coat. Putting in new bearings and seals and grabbed a set of new spokes to put it all together in like new condition. Still have to clean up the hoop. Got a few other odds and ends powdered while I was at it but didn’t get any good pics.
I think my chop and yours are gonna be like polar opposites. Yours is gonna be all clean and painted and shit. Mines probably gonna be leaving droppings anywhere it goes.
I haven’t been working on the bike much until this week. Had a big exam I have been studying for and finally got done and passed that. Between that and waiting on parts I had a lull but I’m back at it. The rear frame is installed now. Not completely finished because I still need braces and seat mounts and such but I have to wait until the rear wheel is done to get it all set up from here. I’m loving the lines so far. It’ll be a 4” stretch and a 4.5” ride height.
Put on a mock up wheel today and got the frame braces finalized so I could work on the seat mounts and start planning the fender mounts. Couldn’t resist a mock-up. I’m loving the stance so far.
