Finally got the last six studs out.

Combination of a stud extractor, impact wrench, and a blow torch finally got the job done.

Some of the parts are starting to come back/in.

New spokes and nipples, all the black parts back from powder, and engine cases are mostly done with vapor blasting.

I'm curious, do you plan to leave the cases raw after the vapor blasting? They look so good as is, but that aluminum corrosion...clearcoat?

They're going to be painted to look as close to stock as possible. The vapor looks really good when it's fresh, but it takes a ton of work to maintain bare aluminum.

From what ive read it doesn't corrode nearly as fast though as the process helps seal up pores. If you keep it clean until it forms the clear aluminum oxide layer again it will also be much more sturdy. You just gotta let them "rust up" haha

the scratched up side covers i would powdercoat

the main cases you can leave vapor honed i will send you some pics once i am finished the welds and i have the outside one milled back

it going to be fun rebuilding what is not there lol

Case repair in progress.

Some more progress. The cases are getting a rest for the remainder of the day before they get too warm.

Things are coming together nicely. :)
