Name that sound

Sounds to me like it does when I leave my foot on the Kickstarter after it kicks over.


And ideas of where to start looking before I just go figure it out on my own?


I’ve got the Honda service manual. Just to help anyone who might want to know where I am with this machine. Reading the Instructions at least.

Which part of the engine is it coming from? It sounds like a loose rocker where the tappet has completely loosened up.

Maybe. I was thinking something valve related when I first heard it.



I’d be thrilled if this wasn’t the moment I had to split the cases.

Now that you mention it, I think I’ve heard this sound before and just had to tighten the rocker axle/pivot thing feon the outside of the valve cover.


I should look at the part for wear it if it’s worked it’s way loose again.

It sounds so great, just ride it noone will notice the spoons left in the top.
