So Will you Bing?

Microsoft is trying to compete with Google? Bah.

I said the same thing when they introduced the Xbox against the PS2, look where they are now!

I tried bing - didn't blow me away.

So I won't be bing'ing anytime soon - mostly because google's search works. I'm fine with somebody trying to invent a better mousetrap, but the reason we've had the same mousetrap design for so long is because it actually works pretty well and there's not a huge amount of room for improvement. Microsoft's attitude seems to be: look wherever money is being made - wade into that arena using its considerable girth to gain traction and then put out a mediocre product without really putting the whole weight of the company behind it.

If Microsoft put its energy into making Windows and the associated software bundles the hands-down best operating system and software out there it would have a lot more of my respect... but it continually concerns itself with stuff that isn't its core competency, and its lack of focus means it's doing everything, but nothing well.

Also. What the hell is up with the logo? It's like somebody just stretched it horizontally?

It's enough to make me refuse to use the service on principle!

Anyone that's looking to buy bike stuff on ebay would likely bing, terrible name and logo aside.
they have 8% cash back going on right now.

Not sure how long Bing will be allowed to do this but.....

Seach for something and go to the Video section

Notice something?

Not only can you View the Video from the Bing search (Bad thing) but they also have Full Audio (Really bad thing)

Oh and Bing just took Yahoos spot as # 2 search

Why is it bad to view the videos through the Bing Search with full audio? Can you *only* view the videos through the Bing search page?

Well
Lets look at it this way

Lets say you start a Website that allows you and others to upload and view Videos from other members.
Sounds simple enough,Right?
There are tons of these site on the web now.

So lets say you work your ass of and get a few sponsors for your site that pay you not by people clicking on adds, but by over all visits to your site

You can see now why it's an issue that people could see the videos with full sound in Bing instead of going to your site

The issue is Fair use and Bing absolutely ignoring the rules

They do say that Bing is only displaying a thumbnail rather than full-sized video so it doesn't apply to Fair use. ::)

You be the Judge

I have a feeling this will be shut down in a few weeks for everyone Get your Porn Fix in while you can
