3RM: Rust Revival / Retro Moto Collaboration Build

Coast to Coast
Some of you guys remember the cb360 by the name of Uncle Deadly I built a year ago. Time passes, you make friends, and then those friends are kind enough to continually give you shit about your bike build. Enter Junior Burrell. Great friend and shit giver extraordinaire. It was all in good fun but I had to agree with him on a lot if points and the seat did look like something you would open the back and put mail in.

Junior and I got to talking one night and it finally got tossed out there that we should rebuild the bike and try to do something special with it.

The Plan: Several people doing their part of the project in their own state. We won't see each other until Barber where we will assemble on Friday night, ride Saturday. Junior is crafting the seat, tank, and exhaust. I'm taking care of the motor, frame, and components. David Kiggins from DEK Performance is taking a 550 front end and making it sexy along with the suspension. Kiley Owen is going to craft the fix for the dreaded top end issue on these motors as well as provide the assembly area with his kick ass garage in Bama.

I can't tell ya how excited I am about this and I am really humbled to get to work with such great craftsman on this. We've been working on it pretty solid now for 2 weeks. Here are some photos to get it up to speed.

I had not thought of filming it but that would be a really cool idea. Maybe someone will.

Might be too late but a documentary style thing with some film of each participant in their various shops, interviewed while working on the components and then the assembley and first ride filmed on Friday at Barber might make a cool video, I'd watch it anyway LOL.

I agree, that would be really rad! It's not too late but logistically, we would have to have some multi-state videographers.

Note: The frame/motor in the exhaust pics is just the donor for Junior to do the fab work. We have the "kit" in our shops so we can sort of mirror what each other is doing. I'll be starting the work on the motor in a few days.

So,I may have given him a lil shit, lol. And I may have called his seat a mailbox, haha. But, I'll make it up to him!!

Settle Keith, settle. We have some progress with the exhaust as well as the engine. We also have some pretty cool support jumping on board for our little Barber stunt too! Stay tuned, pics to come, there are still a couple months left :) Plenty of time.........

Good progress on all fronts this past weekend. Junior has almost knocked the tank out and I split the cases on one of the motors to swap with another. I'm hiding the lower case from a toasted motor to swap with a functional one that has broken lower mounts.

The moment I realized the cases split. Good feeling.

Are the cases on the 360 matched from the factory?

I tried to replace just the bottom on my 400f and everyone (thankfully) told me that they are drilled and machined as matched pairs at the factory, so you cant just swap one part, you have to do upper and lower at the same time.
Not sure if the same is true for the 360?

Maybe PM PJ about it?
Just thought I'd give a heads up if you havent thought of that.
Looking damn good so far!
