Ultrasonic Cleaning

I have a 5 Gal ultra sonic cleaner I picked up on a trip to Arizona. I have used them for cleaning scuba gear, carbs and pretty much everything else. I dipped a set of carbs in half way to show how the ultrasonic cleaner cleans. This was a 10 min dip.

damn that is cool. Never thought or ever seen an ultrasonic that big.(post pics please) I've used my tumbler that I use for cleaning my shell casings or nuts and bolts and it works great for that.

For the deep clean I soda blast the carbs then a dip in the Ultrasonic cleaner. You don't have to remove the rubber bits and I have had great success unsticking stuck carbs and cleaning up rusty bits.
Soda blasting the carbs I do seal the outside of the carb so that I am not blasting directly into the carb its self.

The cleaning mix is usually 10%-15% simple green but it also depends on what I am doing. I also run Evaprorust when I have rusty stuff to put in it. My cleaner will fit 2 banks of carbs or more.

does anyone have the one from northern tool? it's a steep 300 bux but better then the carb cleaner soaks which leaves that chalky film all over them

What fluid are you using Barking......?
The carbs you cleaned appear to have a bit of a shine to them, or is that a trick of the light?
We have a small ultra sonic bath, just a couple of litres or so. We leave a pair of carbs about an hour to get all the grunge off, but they come out dull.

I use simple green and warm to hot water. That was only a soak for about 10 mins. The finish that is left on the carbs is dependent on how long you soak them as well as the solution you soak them in. Here are some links for information on Ultra sonic cleaning:
