93 thou and some change. Not small cut by any means. My Bridgeport has a NMTB30 taper, I take .250 -.300 deep, .500 wide all day long in 6061 with no issues with a 1/2" 3 flute. That cat40 would absolutely hog aluminum. Only weakness there will be with the quill extended out. Raise the table, rather than lowering the quill, and you'll be moving some serious metal.SONIC. said:Jared,
Yeah it's a bit over kill for a mill this size I think but it is certainly a plus. I don't have anything to compare it to but it seems to chew through everything I've thrown at it so far. About a 3/32" depth of cut on a 1" dull endmill didn't bother it at all in cold rolled steel. I don't know if that a big cut or not, but it impressed me.
First step is to build a pneumatic draw bar, using a wrench takes for damn ever.
A lot of guys on Practical Machinist have used this. Total cost is less than $50.SONIC. said:It came with a full set of collets from 1/16 to 1 1/4"
I was thinking more in the line of change from a flycutter to a drill bit etc quickly.
Great find, and even better price!Cookie said:Technically not a purchase, but I found this gem on the side of the road on my way home from work today!
Now I can keep all my tools in the same spot!!!
