Hi everyone.

This is the first bike project that my mate Sam and I are building.

It's a 1972 Honda CB250 (ignore the 350 side covers!).

We picked up the bike of eBay and had it stripped that arvo.

The wheels were sent off to the powder coaters for a fresh coat of gloss black, I then laced them using stainless spokes from Dime.
Tires are Firestone ANS 18x4.00 on the front and 18x4.50 on the rear.

Bars are Ventura Suzuki, supermoto style.

Next up is fender mods, powder coating the frame and start rebuilding the engine.

Sam and I have started a little Facebook blog to showcase the progress and provide a bit of daily inspiration.

Deepwaterimports, they are NSW plates. We are located down in Wollongong about an hour south of Sydney.
Where abouts are you??

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

im up on the central coast just a hr north of Sydney mate well have to organize a syd dtt meet

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

I think I saw this on ebay, was it near Sydney airport or something? Where'd you get the tyres from?

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

Yeah we picked it up from the industrial estate at Bankstown airport.

The front tire is close but there is enough clearance.
I have to fab a new fender bracket as the rolling diameter is bigger.

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

Looks like a good start mate. Is that a CD250u next to the bike in one of those photo's?

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

Slowhk, yep its a CD250U. It's my commuter ride, and most likely will be getting the chop after the CB is finished.

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

Good stuff I just bought one last week, planing on turning it into a tracker. Do you have any issues' getting parts for it ? My local Honda dealer says they're a bit of an oddball.

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

I haven't tried to get parts for it yet, but they are quite rare. I've noticed that there are a lot of parts for sale in the UK for them though.

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

Fabbed a few rear frame brace today to suit the lowered fender.
Still need to tidy up the fender mounts and drill new taillight mounting holes on the fender.

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

Looks good so far! Was it a hard time lacing up the wheels without damaging the black paint / powder coat?
I'm gonna try this in a few weeks and I'm having nightmares thinking about it. ;)

Re: Gentlemen's CB250 Brat Tracker

I managed to chip them a couple of times. I would recommend letting the paint cure for a week before lacing, and then tape up the rim.
