Whats the best 3/4 helmet that sits on your head nice?

Twins FTW
Hey guys I am in the market for a nice 3/4 helmet, and I know how some of them can sit too high or uncomfortable on your head. If you guys know of a helmet brand that is the best, or just the ones you like. I know this isnt a one size fits all kind of thing. Thanks

You need to try them all on. Everyones head is a little different.

Yea I really need to, but have no idea were a helmet shop would be around here. But I guess I will get to looking.

Good luck finding the Bells' or Biltwells in the cycle shops. Those 2 are about the best if your looking for nostalgic look

I am a small large and a big medium in most anything I can wear. I bought the Large flake and it fits just fine and was happy with it. Over time the ear padding gets a little softer and now i notice some wind noise. I tried my buddies medium and it fits better I think, so I bought a black gloss as a build finish reward. I will wear either one, both are not uncomfortable. You can see some bulbous difference between the 2 sizes but its barely noticeable, especially when my jacket has armour in it anyways and makes me look bigger. They fit true to the size chart, but like I said, I am between 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 new era hat size so either one fits. Great quality helmets.
I got one from thebellstore I think, and one from extremesupply, both online to Canada, both under 140 after shipping.

There is no such thing as a 3/4 helmet that looks good or fits right. They look gay and while they do protect you from side and back head trauma. The thought of wearing one just because it looks retro is dumb, imo. They used to wear them because they didnt have a choice. If i get hit on my bike i would rather have 360 degrees of head protection than 180. Oooo, it has sparkles, and matches my gay ass tight jeans.
Sorry, i take helmets seriously, half a helmet is dumb.
That is all.

Ya know what? Nobody asked. And nothing makes a valid point like a bunch of homophobic slurs. Grow up, and get over yourself. If the guy wants a 3/4 lid, thats his perrogative. People really need to stop thinking their opinion is fact.

yeeeshhh... someone must have thier skinny jeans on today...

I wear tight jeans. You know why? Cus they look good and piss off jocks. Rock n Roll. Also 3/4 helmets are really nice, and work well. You wanna jump on your GSXR in flipflops and a full face knock yourself out.

I'm with Von here. If you call something gay, you sound like an idiot, and your points are invalidated.

As far as what helmet to get? Find a store and try em on. Try them ALLLL on. Expect to pay good money for a good helmet. If you find one that fits nicely but you dont like whatever dumb tribal shit they have stuck on it then ask them to order one in for you. Thats what I did!

Back to helmets; I tried Fulmer helmets, and although they had some interesting designs, the fit was awful (too much volume atop my head, cheekpieces crushing my jaw), and I wasn't knocked out by the perceived quality. A Davida it wasn't.

Still wearing my full-coverage...

+1

how funny are all these cocksmokers on dtt. why are they even here when all they do is bitch and whine about other peoples shit.

i'm not a big fan of 3/4's cause my head just looks retarded in them. i wish i could pull it off though. even the half hats just don't do it. guess i was just born to cover my face 100%. for other peoples sake.

These guys have some schweeet stuff. a lot of it might be sold out as much of the line up seems to be limited editions. have a look though.

Rockhard America fit me great and all I did was measure my head and pick the size according to their website.

Never heard of those, but looked them up and those are some slick helmets. Thanks

Check out the DOT 3/4 lids sold by Licks Cycle too. They claim that theyre the "lowest profile DOT helmet on the market." They come in 6 different sizes as well.

Oh yea I have seen this in the cafe racer tv magzine, just never paid attention

I got a Biltwell novelty helmet. It is the only helmet in that style that ever fit me right (large head, actually x-large at 60.5cm). It looks silly on my girlfriend who has 52cm head but looked fine on my friend with an average head. DOT stuff is not going to look right. But if you're that worried about safety you should be wearing a full face helmet. I have tons of helmets including full face and DOT-approved 3/4 helmets. I wear the Biltwell when I am just cruising around downtown.

Aesthetic and form matters folks. I'm afraid you agree to this merely by being on a bulletin board where everyone modifies vintage motorcycles for looks the majority of the time.

Here's some good graphical comparisons:

Yea I been thinking about it and now that I have a job I will just get both, a full face for daily use and a 3/4 for crusing and like you said downtown. but I think I am going with a licks, because of the low pro, barely lighter, stronger and DOT. I have a 75' full face dirt bike helmet thats my dads old one, wanted to restore it. Looks sweet like something off of madmax, It would look perfect with goggles.thanks for the help
