"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Decent price on a newer ural.
Basically the price of a new side car if he'd come down slightly.

This one pops up regularly and always same price. The interesting spelling is new.

Yes, precisely. He is smoking something pretty strong if he thinks he's going to get that. That's Alberta for ya though right.

Everything is expensive here. Everyone enjoys the benefits of our oil and gas industry including retailers and resellers. We get no deals on labor. I looked at getting my brake drums and fork tubes powder coated and it would be $200. Same in most places in U.S. would be half.

Ahhhhhh..............

These fucking bikes. So, I was perusing a FB page dedicated to "Honda Bobbers" not long ago. Came across a pic of another one of these messes. Made a comment about how I felt that they were deathtraps. Was promptly called a "fag" and a "scooter riding bitch". Then the actual builder and his lackey arrived... At this point I was told that they have built dozens of them for customers "in multiple countries" and that I should "shut tue fuck up". I was then invited to North Carolina to meet these upstanding gents in person with the promise that they would "knock my teeth down my throat". Also, I was prompted to take part in an act of sodomy with myself (which I chose NOT to do). Apparently the designer/fabricator responsible is held in extremely high regard in some circles. Also, his bikes "are better built and perform better than almost anything else in the custom scene". And in case you were wondering, the hardtail design "acts like an engineered suspension which makes the bike better than other choppers". Fuck all...

The CB/CM line seems to be the basis for a lot of those type 'bikes' lately.

See above ^^^

All built by one shop. They prefer the cb/cm400/450 because "it's got tons of power and looks great". Apparently the onoy other bikes they've ridden had pedals.

Yep, I seem to recall we had a thread about the dangers of these bikes not long ago.

Such as if the chain snaps you will loose your left arm and left leg.... but I guess that is ok because you will be all right.....

I figured it was because they're kind of ugly and cheap and easy to come by.

Engineered? Yeah and that stamped box section of the frame just screams strength. He wouldn't make it to PA on that pile. Probably would hit a pothole, take his own knee to the chin and knock himself out all while his hipster beard gets caught up in that mile long chain.

Also, who needs a rear brake anyway... it just gets in the way.

When we were still living in Philly, the wife and I loved to go to the Chinese variety stores to peruse the aisles and read the funny translations. Here is a good one on eBay. Scroll down to the description:

"Anti-corruption." That won't sell well to the American market.

To each his own I guess. . .
