Paint gun advise

Hoping some experienced painters will offer me some advise. I have an opportunity to buy two Sata Jet 3000's at a really low price. Problem is that they have needle/nozzle/caps for water borne paint. I know replacing needle/nozzle/cap will be about $175 each so I am reluctant to buy these guns. The guy selling them is saying that they can be used with solvent material with good results. Is this true or is he just trying to make the sale?

yes they will work fine, I have used the WSB nozzle for solvent base paints and it sprays fine, I would not pay more than $175-200 per gun, make sure nozzle holes are unmolested and look perfect..

WSB size is about a 1.26 and solvent based nozzles run from 1.0, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and up. I have a 3000 with a 1.0 tip for doing motorcycle tanks but use a 1.2 4000 rp gun for cars

you can snag a 1.0 nozzle off ebay for motorcycle stuff for about $85, there is one there now

it what I do for living..painting shit
