no MKIV Rs in the states.....yet any way they dont have the VR6 anymore

i LOVE the DSG. im sold on it. it takes some time to learn but its great.

dsg is fucking awesome stuff, but IMHO i would miss the control you gain from a clutch.

The brown mk2 came from Mississauga, and the yellow mk1 came from Seattle, WA.

Well it's not much to look at now but this is my VW.

It has taken four long years just to get it to this point (primarily due to money issues) but it is coming along nicely now and I hope to have it rolling in less than a year.

In case anyone cares about the details it is a 84 GTI that I built a custom chassis and suspension for.
it is also getting a V8 and a rear wheel drive conversion while I'm at it.

Andrew - love both cars but have always loved the MK4. Followed your build thread on the tex. Does your buddy still have the bagged TT?
 
Wow! That's some negative camber you had going on there! I remember when the tuner craze hit in my part of the country (early 90's) and I started seeing imports with crazy amounts of negative camber. Kits to correct it were not widely available then, so dudes drove around in tricked out cars with broke down looking suspensions. How long did your rubber last? :-D
