cb175 piston ring size?

Hey guys.
So ive searched a ton and cant find the answer. Im tying to figure out what size piston rings I need for my 1970 cb175. Anyone able to help me out here?

Max - what size are the pistons? Stock or oversized. You need rings for that model bike in a size that matches the pistons.

duh...thanks bud. Is there any advantage to boring out your head for bigger rings?

Try boring my head and my G/f will be PO'd. LOL

Boring a motor to take oversized pistons is usually done as a repair but it is also a way to add capacity. Bigger pistons displace more gas and make more power - in simple terms.

Going from say stock to 0.5mm oversize is not worth the bother for performance, but is a good idea if the bores are worn and the motor needs to be freshened up a little. A 3mm increase would work nicely but there are not a lot of bigger pistons for those bikes.
