Rise of the phoenix cb750k

Today I just made last things to bike. The broken bolt was one of the. Honda badges were little worn out so I tried to pain them abit. Tomorrow Ill see if paint is drying. I swiped dusts off from tank. I was going to wax the gas tank. Wax was frozen.
I got new wax, and finishing stuff like silicone spray and towels from nearby store. I waxed the tank, cleaned wires and wiped dust and finger prints off the bike. Tomorrow Ill attach little speedometer and them I think its ready to show. My workshop is big but a "room" where I build this is mess right now so fotos are bad. So in next few days Ill attach better ones.

^^ What Jordan said - hope you made it to the show mate and looking forward to seeing some photos of your ride there in all her glory

If you find another frozen mouse then you'll have Ice Mice

Wrap the tires in packing tape to keep them pristine while rolling it in. Old moto trick if you want a photo of your brand new build in the middle of the track

Will also draw some confused looks ;D

Have a blast! I really like doing shows. Not interested in competition, which is a good thing since so many of the competitions are rigged. Really enjoy talking about the bike and the build with folks. Do you have a "build book" for it? I have one with a bunch photos through the progress of the build (which took over five years for my GL1000). I'll be showing it at a lot of small regional shows this year. Fun!

I got to Helsinki. It was late so I just dropped the bike to expo center and get to my cousins place. Tomorrow Ill go to expo center before show starts and do final cleaning and buffing. But now good night! More tomorrow.

Haha that's something. I used tyre dresser to clean them after the bike was rolled to its place.

I had blast for sure. After expo and shows were closed for audience there was like few hours to chat with other builders. There was like small bar built for bike builders. There was wheelbarrow full of ice and beer. We sat there and drunk some beers and discussed about bikes and stuff. Don't really have "build book" but got some photos for sure taken along the project. I'll go other shows too for sure.

Show and expo were great. Trip went also nicely although it was long. Drove the van nearly 1000 kilometers in those days. But it was worth it for sure.
Now I'm waiting to snow to melt motorcycle season to start 8)

So just slap a plate on after the show, get it inspected and ride. Amazing work in just a few weeks
That is exactly what is happening now. I'll get carbs and everything tuned now, get it inspected and then I'll hit the road!

Man I hope you enjoyed every second - that must have felt great. Bike looks fantastic, you did a great job...hope this shitty winter ends soon so we can get riding soon!

Some pics from summer 8) It's getting cold here in Finland. Fall is coming and riding isn't very comfortable for two reasons. First it's kind of cold to ride when it's bellow 10*C degrees and second when leafs fall and it's wet so it's so damn slippery.. I'm waiting for next summer now 8)
So because of that I drove my bike back to my garage (I'm living now 400km from garage because of summer job). Some how I lost my licence plate and its holder. I was driving overtaking lane and suddenly I saw at my mirror that something flung straight to the car back of me  Well fortunate there wasn't police officers en route.
But yeah. I'll do new plate holder and maybe do some wiring (propably motogatget unit) in the winter.
My friend is building Suzuki dr600 scrambler now in the garage so maybe I'll post some pictures of that project here.

Love it.

I also tried to get that helmet in the U.S. and customs confiscated it due to no DOT "approval" even though it far exceeds DOT standards. $400 down the drain :(

Sounds weird because it has DOT certifications  You should do complaint to customs I think.

fuckin' nazi's, what does it matter if you 'just' own one, surely it only applies if you use it on the road without certification ? we have australian design rules which prohibit the use of a helmet on the road without certification ( though you can buy the appropriate sticker on ebay...) but theres nothing to say you can't bring one into the country , having said that i've never heard of anyone getting done for the offence even if they get pulled wearing a simpson ( the most common illegal helmet in oz)
we did used to have a law that said you could not BUY a black helmet over a certain percentage blackness but you could wear one....then Arai brought a batch into the country that had big white dots painted on, got them approved and when the production models turned up the white dots were just stickers which everyone promptly peeled off and had black helmets, the standards people gave up at that point

we recently had a test case where it was proved that as long as the helmet has the cert sticker when you buy it that makes it legal, you do not have to leave the sticker on after purchase, i know people have been done for that little crime against humanity

Epic story, that tank came up beautifully in the bare metal. Brilliant job
