I bought this a few days ago. Here are some pics before and after I pressure washed it/steel wooled the chrome. The chrome is in perfect shape, as in no dents or pitting from rust. Also the gas tank has zero dings, albeit the paint is faded.
Thoughts on what I should do to it? Also thoughts on collectibility, i love the factory details and tank/ seat profile. I feel like this style is very iconic!
If you like it as it is, then by all means put new tires on it, maintain and ride it. Maybe recover the seat. I'd leave the paint as-is, too. Great little ride!
That is a great pickup man. That bike looks extremely clean. how is the compression? If I were you, I would go through it mechanically and go through tht electrics, and make sure its in top running/riding condition, then start to do ur little detail stuf to it. dont repaint
^thanks. The engine is supposedly good it might just need carbs cleaned. The paint is faded but actually still has the clear coat in tact. Having some patina on original paint is something that has taken almost 50 years to complete! I am not going to ruin that without a good hard think about it.
