Re: Rachels 78 CB400A...Done.

Stunning work, looks better than new, very impressive. I wish I had your patience and perseverance.

Re: Rachels 78 CB400A...Done.

I am starting to hate you. My beautifully restored Dunstall GT750 looks decidedly mediocre compared to the way that 400 looks. That's just not fair...

Nice job by the pair of you. Hope it runs as good as it looks and that Rachel has a lot of fun times riding it, and just sitting looking at it. Outstanding.

Could you post back here, after a few miles, and post what your mpg is? Just curious. Mine is only 25mpg regardless of riding style or weather.

Yes I can do that. 25mpg wouldn't surprise me at all. Running the heavier chunky tires coupled w the massive weight of the comstars.
The mpg of my 360 doubled from 25 to 50+ simply changing from Firestones to the Avon tires. I know this because my round trip to work is exactly 50 miles.

and now you got me thinking about a rim upgrade. LOL...Thanks for that. ;)

Also, managed to find the finishing touches.

After contacting a bunch of Ebay sellers. I found the rubber cap for the gear selector switch was gonna be an impossibility.
Apparently, they were ALL rotten.

Except for this one. From U.K. Looks and feels NOS. :)

Over the winter I also collected virtually all the original paperwork for a CB400A

Both original 78 & 78 1/2 Official workshop manuals
Parts guide
Owners manual
Warranty book
and even an Owners ID card for a CB400A...early 79 but Hey its close enough for me. ;D

Re: Rachels 78 CB400A...Done.

Rach asked for a GPS/Speedo that was easier to see...

I think I nailed it.
