Pipe wrap?

It depends on how wide the wrap is, if you stick to the correct overlay, how many bends, etc. There's a decent calculator here:
http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/exhaust-wrap-calculator

When I wrapped my original CB pipes I got a 50' chunk of 2" wrap and it was just about right.

Anyone know how much pipe wrap it takes to wrap the header pipes on a 72 cb 350?
Are you using wrap primarily for cosmetic reasons?
There's lots of reasons why you shouldn't:

Cosmetic reasons only. Pipes are ratty as they are and I don't want to dump money into this bike. The bike is stored in the garage and never sees rain. Maybe some condensation, but I don't give a shit. I also don't give a shit if you think they look fugly or make you itch. I am sure of this......they will look good from your house! ;)

Krafy, thanks for the calculator!

Yes, thanks. I am well aware of the pitfalls. I would really like to have them ceramic coated, but this bike is just not worth the extra, at least to me.

They will not be seen at my house.

You can ceramic coat those pipes yourself for around $30 plus the cost of blasting. Your wrap costs close to that.

2oz. Black Velvet= $19.95 http://www.columbiacoatings.com/store/p/5239-Black-Velvet-Ceramic.aspx
shipping = $9.00
Preval throwaway sprayer =$5 http://www.nationaltoolwarehouse.com/Preval-Sprayer-P33778.aspx?gclid=CjwKEAjw5pKtBRCqpfPK5qXatWYSJABi5kTxIca3lpdaPIc51ef-lNrwtc4__P0OXUYspTSE00lq7BoCAZrw_wcB

Clean and blast the pipes. Spray the ceramic on in a thin even coat getting full coverage. Let air dry. Install the pipes and run them for full cure of the product.

Your price may vary a few bucks depending on where you shop. Columbia Coatings is the only place you can buy small quantities of ceramic.

O1marc,

Have you used this coating before and how did it hold up?

I do this for a living. I own Creative Candy Powdercoating.
www.creativecandy.org
The secret is a proper blast profile (do not use glass bead), never touch them with your bare hands (gloves), thin coat to full coverage (thick coat can crack). You can't second coat it once it air dries.

Marc, can you tint and airbrush ceramic on in shades and faux texture ... you know, so it looks like pipe wrap?

now that would be bad ass ;D
