I spent a little time after work and fabricated a bracket to mount a run/brake/turn LED strip and clean up the back end and mount up the rear fender (which was never mounted).
So now I need to make a choice... LED Strip + side mounted license plate (which I have en route) OR the old school Biltwell tail light / turn / license plate arrangement... (I think I’m favoring the cleaner LED Strip arrangement. I just need to powder coat the bracket and wire it in which will take me all of 30min)
Thank you for the perfect inspiration! I have a light just like that one I've wanted to use it but haven't been sure how I was going to get it mounted. Got it figured out now.

You are welcome sir... I did a similar bracket for LED strip I did several years back on my CB360 build. I've never trusted the adhesive and always add a couple of little zip ties on the ends.
I got the bracket powder coated and installed, but my turn signal flasher isn't up to the task of LEDs at the front and back. I tried a set of load resistors and that works for the rear but causes the front to be weird... so I ordered an Solid State flasher relay. But it looks great and I'll have that in hand before I'm done with painting the tank and powdering the side covers.
I'm hoping to be done with this thing in a couple of weeks. I'm still waffling around on doing an air box removal, It's kinda pricey for what it is... it's lowest priority at this point. If I do it I'll get the kit from Triumph Twin Power so that I can get their map for EFI tuning...
Today I'm going to degloss the tank and prep it for paint. No need to strip and prime as the current paint is great, just a good overall sanding and dewaxing. I've also go a set of gaskets inbound. So i'm going to at least pull the valve cover and strip it so that I can powder it in gloss black to match what I'm going to do to the other engine covers.
I pulled the valve cover to powder coat it. The powder was coming off super slow with my little blasting setup... had to resort to chemical stripping... that’ll remove the bulk and I’ll be able to blast off what did not come off chemically.
After chem stripping and wire brushing it... of to the basting cabinet next after lunch.
Still stripping these engine covers... sonuvabitch these things are killing me... sand blaster isn’t doing shit to the powder coating as it really thick and kinda rubbery the blast media just bounces off it.. needs some industrial grade stuff to remove it. I took an RO sander and removed what I could with some 80 grit and a flap wheel on the grinder. I bought some new stripper but evidently the new NMC stripper just can’t cut through the PC so after lunch I’m gonna run to ACE hardware and see if they have some of the nasty stuff still on the shelf. On a good note I have the valve cover baking in the oven...
I managed to get the sprocket cover and stator cover powder coated along with the clutch lifter parts. I’m going to push to get the primary cover done tonight ( that one is a story of its own as it has bearings installed for the clutch lifter and shifter shaft. I could not remove them so I’ve blocked them off from getting grit in them and am going to push on and hope they hold up. I’m not really worried about the heat but the grit from blasting the crannies could f em up.
Can't hurt to try, use lots and lots of air after the blasting and you'll probably be ok. About the time you think you've blasted enough blast some more.

The EPA banned methylene chloride, which is what is in the good strippers that we need to remove this stuff, plus tank liners and such. The ban went into full effect last March and gave until August for the market to clear of it. Places like Home Depot and Lowe's cleared their shelfs of it last winter, in anticipation of the ban. I searched all over town last spring for any remaining cans of stripper that had it. Found one at Home Depot, went to the register to pay and alarms went off like I stole something. They pulled the can and wouldn't let me buy it. Oh well. I hope someone comes up with a comparable alternative, though right now there really isn't one.
