I flogged the same DOHC 8 valve twin for a million years and finally got bored with it.So I got a 200 Blaster which is a 6 speed, air cooled and counterbalanced, understressed engine.I trenched the cases for a 4mm stroker crank, freshened up the entire motor, ported the cylinder, added Boyeson ports to the intake,Wiseco piston and forged clutch basket,VForce4 carbon reeds, billet intake manifold,36mmTM Mikuni.I will start with the stock pipe, all cut up to fit the bike and a few tricks I want to try to it[the pipe].If my exhaust doesn't work I will put a Jemco on it.

Porting before bore job. Dualsport version of my bike after yanking the 4 stroke out. Internal stinger on stock exhaust! Gordon Jennings was way ahead of his time :]

Is that really an XS/TX500 with a turbo on it? Good for you. What sort of ET/MPH did it generate?

That Blaster barrel looks interesting and seems to me to have some further potential, as does the pipe. Are you going to race it or run it on teh street? Or Both :) ? That's an interesting project. Good luck and keep the posts coming please.

Yes sir, that is a XS500 with a turbo.I used one stock cv old junk carb in a blow through setup. It pulled great up to about 1000 feet and then it would flood out and coast the last 320' through the traps, engine shutdown. The carb had weird internal bowl vents and just pushed too much fuel under boost right when it was pulling strong.I was moving and starting a new job at the time,so I only limped it one season of racing. It ran a boat load of 12.40's at 107/108/109 mph.Now if I would have sorted out a real carb it probably would have been an 11.50 bike,or better. But I didn't,and it wasn't. This was my first turbo project and I will never forget the first time I launched it under full boost!
