Cj360 blows carb off

Rene Holsebro

Been Around the Block
My cj360 blows the right carburettor off.
If it's not misfiring can it really be a valve that's not closing .
If I start the bike and give it some throttle then it blows of when the engine decelerates

Check the intake valve (read the timing procedure for valve adjustment) The tappet should move/wiggle slightly if not back the jam nut off then back the adjuster off if it is tight It may have been open some, adjust the valves per spec and see if that is all it needed.

Yes your right thats one of very few things I've payed a mc shop to do for me. so it would be "great" if that wasn't done right :-\

Did this start happening shortly after the visit to the shop?

no I assembled the engine which haven't been running for 10-15 years, and had the shop check and adjust valves and chain, after that I've ridden it a few times without no troubles, maximum 10km. Then one day it wouldn't start, and it sputtered. I found out the battery was low, charged it and it started right up, BUT now it makes this "pop" and shoots the right carb off.
