Also, I definitely prefer the filters you purchased, both in style and fitment.
I should have went with those over the individual oval KN's (RC-0984) I went with. They are a much tighter fit than you dealt with unfortunately, had to slight crush inside top portion of 1 & 4 filters in order to fit. But I'm less of a perfectionist at this point, I really just want to hear it run before winter hits us! Catching back up in your thread should continue to motivate me in that direction, some really clean work going on here.
Did you already, or have you considered running direct fused power to coil via coil relay mod/ switched by ignition at kill switch? I'm sold on that now after doing so on my girlfriends GS450S here and my buddies GS650G. Both are running very strong and it's nice to see no voltage loss @ the coils.
