In my case it was going to be a dirt-bike two-stroke single.

I saw a Ts185 engine down your way for $80 on eBay. Might be a cheap little experiment.

It's tempting!

But I still have hopes of resurrecting my balls-and-all build some day. That will provide me with more madness than I can handle!

You know it makes sense.

Hey Crazy, a quick question for you, or anyone else who went and got clip-ons. Did you replace the triple tree? if so what one did you buy?

Thanks in advance,
Son

Hi Everybody,

A quick electrical question please! I am somewhat of an electrical ignoramus but willing to learn, so am in the process of fitting an integrated electronic speedo / Tachometer and I am just wondering where is the best place to tap into the ignition / live lead. I don't want to start hacking my way into the ignition cable if there is a better place to take the live feed from.

I would be grateful for any advice! - Thanks

Seems to be two ways to go about it. This info for a tacho that I am close to buying may help. Not sure whether Type A or Type B will be the better way to go, but this tacho allows either. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks 2b. Mine is a similar variation to the type that you have posted. Fortunately, it came with a adapter that enables you to plug the standard speedo cable into the speed sensor that basically converts the rotating cable into electrical pulses, so at least I should'nt have to mess about having to fit new speed sensors onto it.

Likewise, with the tacho reading, I have been informed that the best place to wire this into is the live feed from the coil, so hopefully that is relatively straightforward, but my main concern was where to pick up the live feed from the ignition switch.

Ahh yep I see. I will watch for the answer with interest as I will face the same question when I come to do mine.

What make/model have you got hold of? Still not fully convinced about my choice because the price.

Hey All,
off current topic here but,
Should some topic's stay at top?
I think they call em stickys ?
like owners locators list,
ACE Data sheet ?
think these need to be easy to find?
other suggestions ?
post em up
cheers ACEitup

Maybe a 150cc conversion guide as a sticky as well.

And a "must do" mod list like EGR removal and such.

With regard to the stickies, I totally agree that this is an excellent idea as I have spent time trying to find certain information - eg. I replaced the Cush drive bushes last week, finding the relevant thread with the Honda Part numbers took a few minutes to locate!

With the Speedo/ tacho that I am planning to fit, I enclose a couple of photos of it. I came across it whilst attending the Automechanica show in Frankfurt this September (I work in the parts industry!) It appeals to me as it is good quality, and relatively unusual as it is made by a Taiwanese company that specialises in marine instruments. Cost wise, it is approximately £100.00 (including £20.00 import duty) - Check out their details www.igauge.com.tw I will let you know how I get on with it!

Regarding the Cush drive bushes, I bought them from OOracing, but are pattern rather than OE. Will monitor their progress carefully. They were absolute buggers to get out as most of you know, so don't really want to repeat the process again in a hurry. The originals had done over 4700km's (Just under 3000 miles) and considering that I'm 6" 3", 110kgs and give it a maximum thrashing at all times, I suppose that I can't moan too much!

Hi every one
