What was your worst speeding ticket?

Scooter trash

Been Around the Block
Be careful your insurance agent may be reading your post! Mine was 140mph in a 55 back when that was the max speed limit. It was on a highly modified Kawasaki H-2. I was coming back from the drag strip 2:00 am after changing plugs at Moonlight Kawasaki. My boots were covering the stingers as best possible. Well one cylinder fouled so going up the on ramp, I let her rip through the gears. I actually had to gear up which is usually the opposite for drag racing, the power band was sudden and wicked, the low stock gears were to short between shifts. Only one car on the freeway so merging was easy, it was a Sheriff van! My engine was already at max temp and on the ragged edge of locking up. Pulled over and the officer thanked me for not running away from his 6 cylinder Dodge van. He didn't know that would have been impossible for this set-up.

130kph in a 90 zone in my pickup. Truck impounded for a week. After towing, cab rides, and all the fines and insurance premiums, this ticket cost me over $3000.

I rarely speed now. And this process is triggered when you go 30 over. Of I do speed I never go more than 25 over.

My asshole still hurts from no lube.

Let's just say I didn't have a legitimate driver's license until my mid-20's because of the cars we built and our extracurricular activity while in high school.

"90+ in a 45 and Felony eluding" earned myself a night in jail...lol...countless "reckless operation" I was on probation for 3 yrs...lol...Got a 76 in a 35 in my GTI a few yrs back, Luckily he was a nice guy and dropped it way down.

I was once ticketed in Montana, who at the time had no speed limit only a speed law. The speed law basically said you could go as fast was prudent to do so and in a vehicle that was safe to go that fast. The officer did not think 105 in a Ford Escort on a 2 lane country road was safe or prudent in my case. I talked to a cop later that week that told me he had never written on e of those tickets before.

I was pulled over on a highly modified CBR954RR. The cop blue lit me as I was passing. I pulled over, kick stand down, helmet off, jacket off, leaned up against the bike when he got to me. He said "I'm surprised you stopped." I was on the Courtney Campbell Causeway between Tampa and Clearwater, no where to turn off, and a solid 5 miles to the other side. I said "ah, I could have went for it, but I can't outrun a radio." He started talking to me about his R1. Said "Now, you know this is a felony, I could take you to jail and impound your bike." Then he said, "What's the fastest you've had this thing to? "This." "No, really?" "This, I've had the bike for a couple days." Turns out he was part of the crew that raced on the Howard Franklin Bridge. He gave me a warning. He clocked me at 172. That was the first, and last time I've gotten anywhere near that speed on a public highway.

J-Rod i have seen 186 on the speedo...probably close to what you was running with the correction factored in...I want to hit a real 200 some day...Need to get my GSXR running again and go to Wilmington Oh.. :D

95 in a 40 on the windy part of the road near Papago Park in Tempe on a CB400F. Ticket counted as double points against insurance because it was extreme speeding or whatever, but I was offered traffic school to drop the ticket -- which they normally only do for one-point violations -- so I sat in a room in a strip mall, hungover as hell early on a Saturday morning, for 6 hours, listening to an idiot who didn't know the difference between "to" and "too" (someone asked when he misspelled it on the chalk board) rant about traffic safety. And there was a stupid movie. $100 later, no points against insurance. AZ let you go to traffic school every 3 years to get a ticket wiped out.

I have hit 2 bills once. I have a friend with a turbo'd Busa putting down a touch over 500hp. Used to go out to a little private airport and run them. It is terrifyingly exhilarating.

I'm originally from Clearater, I remember quite a few nights racing back and forth from Tampa. All in cars though, never on a bike. I don't think we ever went over 160 though.

Lucky me, although the Throttle Lord commands my right hand, I've never got a ticket on my bike. Two or three warnings only.

You're screwed now.

Was pulled over in a friends very fast Acura Integra (I've never been stopped on a bike, nor have I ever owned one that would easily top 120 lol) when I was 18. No license, had had a beer or two... Anyhow, cop came to the window with his hand on his gun yelling "hands on the wheel". He looked in and I heard "Jesus Christ Mike...". It was a dude I'd known for awhile, and had just seen that morning. Anyhow, he said he had me at 140+ in a 35. Told me to "get the fuck out of here before any other cops show up" called me a moron and that was that. Could've been REAL bad had someone with any fucks to give had been on duty.

I got pulled over for 140mph on the M40 motorway in England on my Fireblade 10+ years ago - I was proper fucked for sure as the official speed limit was 70 even though most folks do a ton in the outside lane.

Cop breathalyzed me first which was just standard practice on a Saturday afternoon, which wasn't a problem cos I never drink and ride, even back then when I was more reckless, and all the time he's talking about his bikes. Then this Escort Cosworth fly's passed us at ridiculous speed about 6 feet away from us, followed by 3 other cop cars. He grabs he radio throws my license back at me and says "your lucky day son" while he runs back to his car and takes off.

That night I'm watching the news about 4 guys that did an armed robbery in Coventry and made a getaway being chased by police on the M40 in red escort cosworth. I always wanted to thank them :)

If you do get stopped never admit to speeding. They might ask "how fast do you think you were going?" or "Do you know what the speed limit is here?". The only answer is "I don't know", or you can still be polite about it and "Well I don't want to lie so I'm actually not sure".

If you do this they will push you to answer, just keep saying it.

If you say anything like, "I think it's 40 right, I was probably doing 45", you just admitted to breaking the law.

Between getting the ticket and court many things can happen that will squash it.

Radar machines get regularly inspected and can be off which will void tickets issues since it was last tested good.
If the cop makes a mistake on the ticket such as checking AM instead of PM or writing the wrong date, name, plate etc.. it can be squashed.
If the cop can't make the court date it will be squashed ( good to know if you have any Italian friends in Jersey).

However, if they also have a record of you admitting to breaking the speed limit they can use that to prosecute you regardless.

Anything you say to the police can be used against you but what most people don't realize is that nothing you say can be used to HELP you. In the USA it's not permissible for anything you say to the police to be used in your defense. It will be objected to as hearsay and discounted.

We used to go pull the FX up to the water on the Causeway beach at night on the weekends, drink beer, and watch the people street race. That lasted until a car hit the concrete going in to Tampa at about 140. The cops shut that shit down after that.

the last time i got pulled over(on my TL1000r)well not really pulled over i saw him point at me and i pulled over on my own volation.my H.a.r.d was going off so i knew i was had
he said i got you at 97 thanks for stopping slow down that was all never ever asked fer my lyesense

When I was 16, I got 85 in a 55 with Dad in the car. A week later I got 80 in a 55 with Mom in the car. ;D

This was just after the stupid 55 national limit went into effect, and both of them had just told me, "Kick it up a bit, it will take us forever to get there at this rate!". 8)

Of course, both of them swore me to secrecy from telling the other. lol ::)

A couple of traffic schools 6 months apart (minimum allowable) and I could afford my insurance again. ;D

Fastest I have gone without being caught? I spent A LOT of time around a buck and a quarter, and nudged the topside of 165 once while outrunning a Porsche 928. 8)
