cafe bikes and cruves?

Me on the "Mongrel" last summer at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport), just north east of Toronto.

Not a great cornering pic, but...

I really hate that I have to say, "last summer". :p Winter is way too long. :'(

Anyone can twist the throttle in a straight line, it's the corners that make riding fun. For me it depends a bit on the bike. I have a bike that I turned into a allroiad bike, cornering on roads is not that important. I have one bike that is meant to cruise, I did nothing to improve cornering on that bike either, and I have one 'real' cafe racer. I did a lot to improve the handling and you can really feel it.

Don't have that many cornering photos though.

any better handling and your going to need pucks on those valve covers!

what did you do to your cafe to make it handle better?

They do hit the ground every once in a while...

I upgraded the suspension, raised the rear a bit for a sharper handling and in the photo the bike still had frame braces. The braces made a big difference (stiffer frame), but I had to bin those because they didn't fit with the new tank :(

(the old tank was glass fiber and dissolving with the modern fuels, still thinking about saving money for an aluminum tank)

Edit: and making the whole bike much, much lighter helped a lot too.
