started as a pretty stock:

had those two to choose of:

stripped it all down:

had to work on it a little to fit the front end:
c36020120922184430.jpg

fits nicely though:

then started on the engine:

cleaned and polished a bit:

img20121012204549.jpg

done that as well:
img20121012232908.jpg

then decided to not use the original swinger but this TTV SSSA one

first mockup:

then i made a stiff table to bolt the bike to it for the build time:
c36020121030222309.jpg

then i changed my mind and made a different jig to keep it level and plumb
c36020121102175604.jpg

made a swinger bracket and i finally could take it off of the jig

while working on wheels(polishing it) i mocked it up with the tires:

and i quite like it :)

then made a bracket for the new shock and started on the seat- dont know how its gonna be mounted yet.\

what do you think guys?

good day to you all! :)

Looks cool as hell, great work!! ;D

I am confused as to how you are going to get power to the rear wheel. Is that swinger / rear end a shaft set up? I cant tell in the pics. Are you going to convert to chain drive?? Really confused by the pics.

Anyway, good luck, very cool so far. 8)

Ok, the more I look at it, I think that swinger is a shaft set up, I think!!!! Does the virago shaft drive bolt right to it???

cheers! :)

the Honda NTV is a shaft drive also so Just had to fabricate the shaft with the Virago front splines and the NTV rear splines.

and here is how i want to hide the cables:

and the grips are leather:

More and more I see the viragos the more and more I like them, especially with a Shaft single side swinger. Can't wait to see how this beaut turns out!

Was fabbing that shaft difficult?? Is it just cutting off the splines and welding on the other?? Conversion seems way over my head. Did you also have to build all that bracket / frame I see there to mount that arm to the bike?? Mad skills bro!!

And hey, what the hell tire is that?? Some sort of rain tread?? Looks cool. May steal that for my bobber!!!

Well... it was fairly easy to do it actually. I made one shaft out of two for now. Chopped them, drilled holes and made the thread so i could bolt them together inside(in the middle) then welded it together.(sorry i am not a native english speaker as u can c but hope u know what i mean)
If everything will work okay then i will order a new onepiece machined shaft.

Yes i made the bracket/ swinger mount as well. Overengineered i guess. Prefere it a bit heavier and stronger. And i like that industrial look of the thick stock- it goes well with the big swinger i guess.
it is still going to be trimmed here and there to give it nicer look though.
cheers!

and yes, rear tire is a super rain Haidenau and the front rain metzeler.

Hi there!!
thanks for all the comments :). Glad u like it too..
Unfortunatelly its kind a stand still for last couple of weeks but hoping to get my hands dirty again from tomorrow on :D
will keep you updated, those who follow :).
cheers!

just a small photo update here :

... next stage: putting the engin casings together after polishing them..

and this is how it stands today:
around 40 bolts changed on the engine... still few to do..

next:
footrests and all the connected stuff to it..

How about turnin those bars over for a real "fighter" look???

:D cheers!

real 'fighter' means? higher? lower? wider?.. clip ons?
egz plz :)

Clip ons look great on this type of build. I just found that riding with clip ons sucks, just my humble opinion.

On a bike like this I prefer MX style bars. They look great and are way more comfortable.

Anyway, just my 2 pennies, sure it will look great whichever way you decide to go. ;D

Take the same pic you have above with the bars flipped over and you will see waht I am suggesting..

My triple with pro taper fatty bars.
