XS850SG Triple - Now on to the fun stuff

Almost threw my shoulder out getting that engine out.
Doesn't look that big when it's sitting in the frame.
Speaking of the frame, I gotta clean and detab the sucker before I get it prepped for paint.
Still haven't decided on any colors.
I'm a big fan of antique white but it needs to be just the right hue of yellow.
Seat will most likely be solo wrapped in oxblood.

all of this will probably change...

p.s. whered ya get that keen engine stand apparatus gizmo at?

That's a K&L engine stand. You can find them new for $200, but they occasionally pop up used for much less. It's been awesome, but getting the engine on and off requires a second set of hands (or two).

are you going to be welding in a rear hoop or just leaving the frame rails as is at the back?

I plan on getting around to the hoop eventually. pretty sure I'll just end up ordering a DC CB750 hoop but first thing's first this engine has a few issues.

One being why the hell one of the fins is JB welded on.


I'll fill ya'll in when I pop the seal on this mess next week.

I love these triples. One day I'll have the money and space to build me one.
