hello forum!

so i´ve been lurking here around for a long long time, havin´a great time watching great build going down.
i´ve also had great help with my build so far, this forum is best when it comes to cool build.

so here´s the story:

after my first build a KZ 400 i was looking for something more purty.i watched several 2 stroke build and was pretty stoked about the simplicity and at the same time power of these little bikes from the 70 era.

and then it happened,i had an accident with my everyday rider, ducati monster and decided to go crazy ,spend the insurence money on a purty loud and stinking RD.

my restoration is about 2 thirds finished now,i will gradually upload what i did to my RD to make her rideable and for the eye more enjoyable.

as a start here´s the pic how i got that little bike from the countryside in austria on a bloody foggy day in december last year.luckily i borrowed the car of a friend who is hunter.

the video show the PO and the first statup of this bike after years,i took it for a spin and i was STOKED about the power of this little motor.when it hits the power band, what a blast.
The carburator was pissing gasoline, the right plug carbonised after the first ride and the rear brake was like steppin on a dogs turd,so i was def aware that there would be work.

I consider this project as my "learning project",first total strip-down of frame and motor, but you will see later guys.

so my first step was to strip the RD down, remove tank, side panels.

did a little mock up of the cowl/seat....not really satisfied, gonna go more for the tz look.

i was stoked again about the nimbleness of these little jap bikes.everything made out of metal, not that much plastic.
the removable subframe of the RD is a rockin´modification gogo.

That will be a big change of pace from your Ducati, but it looks like a fun little project. What is your eventual goal for the bike?

you know i rode the bike and i was in love after the first second!

hmmm i think im going for a tracker/cafe racer mixture..dunno yet!im open to any inspiration!

I know the feeling, new stuff is great; faster, tighter, more reliable, but there is something magical about having something old and unique. Good luck with the project.
