1980 Honda CB125S

Okay, so I just joined up, I've been reading a lot of posts over the past couple of weeks and I've finally bought my first project bike. It's a 1980 Honda CB125S that I was able to snag for $250 and I think that it's in pretty good condition. I was able to get it running with everything that it has now so I'm beginning my restoration but I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction with a few things I've been having trouble coming across.

Things that I have found:

Here's a list of things that I want to replace but haven't been able to locate

• Handlebar / Handlebar Controls
• Fork Legs
• Rear Suspension

For the handlebar, I wanted to put on a cafe bar but can't seem to find one surprisingly. Also I was hoping to find custom / aftermarket handlebar controles [ i.e. - killswitch / turn signals ]. The fork legs that the bike has now are okay, but I was hoping to find either some new OEM legs or aftermarket legs, same goes for the rear suspension.

I stumbled upon a nice chrome clubman handlebar / chrome controls, pretty excited.

I think I can help out..

My brother and I both have CB125's mine is a '82 model and his is an '80 model identical to yours and we both have done a lot of looking around for pieces, parts etc.

We both got the rear shocks listed here

They are a little taller and a little stiffer but they are advertised as adjustable (I have not yet tried to adjust them). They are likely not as good of quality as the originals, but I was looking for something a little taller than stock and that is what I found, and they fit.


For replacement controls, I have not had much luck, I was hoping to find something a little more low profile but I am keeping the original for now. There are likely some options for you at motogadget.com but probably overkill for your project.

Thanks! I love the rear suspension, I was able to find some controls / handlebars that I liked ( see the post just above yours ) that I felt did the bike justice. As far as motogadget, they have some sweet stuff, but you're correct, a little over kill for what I'm trying to accomplish with this bike
