1977 BMW R100/7 Sarcoplasmic Cow Hellride

Re: 1977 BMW R100/7 Miles Von Muncher Hellride

Updates are never really dead are they? After a season of riding, I’ve come to dislike the length and geometry of the VZ forks. Plus, their ride may be too cruiser like. So, I’ll attempt to fix that with TL1000r legs...

Front end done minus brakes and fender.

I had a couple mil to make up on the top of the forks, so I shimmed the triple.

The lower fork clamps are 32mm and the TL axle is 25mm, so I machined a sleeve and pressed a KZ axle bolt in for the left side.

Then I cut the end off the TL axle, welded the VZ axle through, trued it up and machined the welds clean.

You took entirely to long to get that done man. I mean you've had that front end for like two days right lol

Looks much better length than the other forks

I can’t ride it yet. LOL. I mean, it’s not quite done until I make brackets for the brakes.

Adapters for the Tokico calipers are done. Final step is to buy brake lines 4in shorter than what I have...

The VZ fender bracket doesn’t work on these forks, so I had to fuck it up...

Nothing pretty, but it works. I have a stock fender going back on it. It needs repair, but nothing works better on an airhead than an airhead fender...

Subframe, side covers and fender go back to stock. Maybe now I can paint it without fear of undoing...
