TODAY is the day that your carrier has to be able to release your phone number to another carrier.
So you can move your number from a crappy carrier, assuming your contact is up, to a better carrier.
Now according to the CRTC the new carrier does not have to be able to activate the number until September but I know MTS (MB's Bell affiliate) is able to activate numbers as of today. You may want to check before you go breaking up with your current carrier ;D
So by this weekend my three year old phone with T**** is hitting the recycling bucket and the number will be ported over to MTS.
