Looking at swooping up a TS185 for super cheap.

Buyer claims it "turns over, has compression and a spark" but does not run.

Where would you start one trying to get it to run?

IF that is the truth. (BIG IF)

Probably a fuel issue, but could also be an ignition timing issue.

If you can turn it over with spark, spray some starting fluid and see if it tries to run.

If it does, it's a fuel issue. Pull carb, clean/rebuild, reassemble/install give it good fuel and see what happens.

If it does not, then the ignition timing is off, which could be a stuck advance (if it does indeed have spark)

The three things you have to have:
Compression.
Fuel and air in the right ratio.
Spark at the correct time to ignite the mixture.

If it does turn over, do a compression test first and see if it has ENOUGH compression.

Best of luck!
