The SkyTeam 'Ace' Resource

Anyone here from Brisbane?

Is anyone here in the Brisbane area?

Someone off a Bird forum is considering selling his ZZR1100 to fund an Ace :)

Ah just realised ChrisBNE is up there, will tell Ian to set an account up & get in touch

CAT removed ;D
header pipe extended and megaphone fitted
bought a smile to my face immediately
with power increase but was surprised
top speed still 90 k's?
Will finish off pipe with a titanium wrap
also might have to tinker with baffle?
cheers ACEitup

On the flat/freeway I can do 100-105 and only stock intake/exhaust...

I'm same weight as you buddy and I'm a broad mofo. Don't get me wrong, as soon as a hill comes along all bets are off!

If it makes you feel better (or worse) I'm around 107kg fully suited & booted and can get a steady 63/64mph (approx 100kph) on the flat

Uphill, well you've seen my video on the Cat & Fiddle (few posts back, speeds shown in mph) which was an 800 ft (243m) climb over 6.3 miles (10.1km)

EDIT:

Just checked and allowing for the time until I started moving & slowing to turn into the pub car park I did it in exactly the time Google says it takes :)

Hi guys,

Haven't been following the thread for a while, need to catch up on it.

Anyway my Ace has finally arrived!!! Stoked!!!

I like the black too. I'd love to pull the fenders off, shorten the front one and paint the tank/sides black.

Welcome to the club and enjoy!

you dont need the whole of the ooracing kit unless you want to get it all, you can make do just getting the jets , the blanking plate and a front sprocket with 17 teeth, then you dont need to shorten the chain, which you need to do if you change the rear to a smaller one.

I am ordering the stuff from OORacing you have recommended:

- Product Code: 7329 - EGR Cylinder head exhaust emission blanking plate
- Product Code: 8685 - Re jet kit for Skyteam ACE 125 using standard air box

But I am not sure which sprocket is the right one:

Product Code: 0957 - 14T 15T 16T 17T 18T 428P 17mm shaft Front Sprocket (17T)
or
Product Code: 0960 - 15T 16T 17T 428P 20mm shaft Front Sprocket (17T)?

Also I would like to put on new set of tires (it was quite wet when I took her for the first ride and had quite nasty rear wheel skid), but I would like something a little bit chunkier - do you guys think I can put front 3.00 and rear 3.50 on? Or it must be 2.75 front and 3.00 rear? Any suggestion which tires to choose? I would like something classic looking - TT100 pattern kinda style - I was thinking Dunlop K82, but not sure whether you can get these here in Oz/

Thanks for your help!

looking at other listings on ooracing it seems that the 125 has a 20mm shaft for the sprocket.

dont know 100% maybe someone else here knows.

Anyone got any suggestions? as to
why I'm not achieving similar results?
I no its not the brakes ;D
I havn't rejetted yet and new muffler is reasonably quiet until you rev hard
emgo 24" megaphone
and engine does have a slight flat spot, more so when cold
Are you guys running those CDI things?
still have a standard sprocket and a capped off egr

only done EGR valve.

have you checked tire pressures? could make a difference, as at that velocity every little bit counts.

I haven't replaced the bolt I stripped last night, could be that weight reduction!!
