The SkyTeam 'Ace' Resource

About the OORacing re-jet: pilot is 48 and main is 97.5.
Both are Keihin ones and can be found on ebay for something like 4-5$ each INCLUDING shipping.
There are several Keihin jets. The main jet used here is M5 thread with a 6mm head and more or less 9mm long.
I ordered a 5 piece jet kit that cost me 8,5 dollars with shipping to France.

These things look "ace" ;) really thinking of getting one!

Anyone in oz how do you go about getting them on the road??

You can either buy one in a crate and do the (minimal) assembly yourself, or purchase one from a dealer ready registered.

If you go through the posts on this thread you will find heaps of information on 'Ace' setting-up.

What is it ? I can't open the page, got the usual copuntry restriction error...

Idle/slow running jet advice please - have bought this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SLOW-PILOT-JET-for-PWK-KEIHIN-OKO-CVK-45-/261287432012?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3cd5f1cf4c #45 jet which looks like the oo racing jet http://www.ooracing.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=4315

But when I come to fit it the original pilot jet is a three piece assembly and if I fit the new pilot jet in the holder its too short and directly into the carb too long ........ :(

I should have just bought the oo racing kit as I also bought the 4mm main jet first not the 5 mm  so has cost more than the kit from oo .

Have I got the wrong jet or carb - my head hurts , have had bikes a long time but never swapped a pilot jet .....

That's good to know for those that haven't ordered yet!

Your slow jet looks like the right kind. I measured the one I have and dimensions are identical.
The original one is indeed a 3 piece one and the new one is 1 piece and smaller, but it fits in the thread (when screwed directly in the carb).
What is your carb ? PZ26 ?

Here is a picture of both original (upper) and ooracing one (lower) for you to see difference. The one you have should be like the lower one.

Btw I made a mystake about ooracing re-jet size:
- pilot jet is 48
- main jet is 97.5

Note that these are sizes for a carb with airbox removed and air filter (foam, KN style etc) fitted.
It works good on my bike with a straight-through exhaust but I'm still fine-tuning it.
I made the needle a bit richer and it improved the engine reaction. Please note also that on the stock carb there is no clip on the needle so you don't get the usual 5 positions. So you can make it richer by adding a small washer under it but there is no way to make it leaner if needed.
I also intend to try a 100 main jet as it seems in MY setup 97.5 might be a bit lean.

Maybe we could start a topic about owner's carb and jet combinaison ? Could be useful for other users. I for instance would be interested to know how big bore kits are jetted.
Could look like this:

OWNER CARB MODEL FILTER PILOT JET MAIN JET NEEDLE POSITION IDLE SCREW MIXTURE SCREW ENGINE EXHAUST NOTES
Alan Vega stock PZ26 metal cone filter 48 97.5 middle - 1,5 out stock 125cc straight through dunstall works fine so far

what do you think guys ?

Great idea
I know I read most posts however
when it comes time for me to do a task or
i have that problem, it can take some time to re find ?
So categorising this stuff in a new topic is a time saver
Doing valve's tomorrow so was looking up all the posts tonight!

alan , i am running 48, 98 and feel 98 to be a little lean at wide open throttle...close though..tried to lift needle but did not have a small enough washer. will try making a small ring from 0.8mm mig wire soon.
.

top speed recorded 104 kmh.. not recorded on freeway 110++

btw
38mm od header.
small baffled megaphone muffler with baffle drilled aprox 18mm

so not quite straight through but you can see through pipe from front to back.
