Looking good,
But uh...That rear brake lever and peg are waaaay too low. Especially on a bike that will see off-road...

Maybe it's the angle of the pic... But yeah... That looks dangerous.

Been a while since I updated this.

Have done a bit more work and made a pipe for it, and except for a few little things,,, it is finished! Well, finished enough that things like painting the motor, fiddling with footpegs etc. can be done later. It is at my friendly local bike mechanic to have new rubber fitted and be fettled, tuned and sorted.

Planning to race it in October as this is the first meet I'll actually have a weekend free and will give me time to have a play on it.

A flashback to what the old girl looked like when I first got it home.

And now. Yeah, I have a bit of an alloy and speed hole fetish. Won't make me any faster, but I like it.

I ditched the rear brake set up that I made and put the original pedal back on. If I find I need it a bit lower it is not hard to bend the original pedal down. Most guys are running them up high anyway. I still need to make a folding peg for this side.

Got her onto the track for a race meet last Sunday. And she goes well. Well enough for me to win my first race ever :)

A few changes since the last update. The 1974 YZ250A alloy tank and the motor being rebuilt being the main ones.

I put a set of VForce reeds in but ended up pulling the them out and having some carbon fibre reed petals custom made for the OEM reed cage. Really seemed to make a difference as the VForce reeds have a very small hole on the intake side with a big ledge when mated up to the OEM intake manifold. Using the OEM reed cage with new petals solves all this and lets it breathe better.

That was fecking awesome! Legendary.

Looks like it helped a lot that you are a damn good rider. What is this style of racing called? Looks insane fun!

I think that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me!
I am actually an average rider, but the bike is well fast! Fast enough that I won my class (Open Classics) at my last race day. My first ever trophy for bike racing. Pretty chuffed with that!

This is Dirt Track. Kinda like Flat Track but has one right hand turn in the track and yep, it is stupid fun!
