Its got an RD400 transmission, all new seals, replaced some shifter forks that had some damage, replaced the crand with one that was in really good shape, new gaskets, Bored out the cylinders, new forged wiesco pistons.. I just need to paint it and put the jugs on it at this point.

Havent messed with that yet, i'll likely modify the existing cages and go with a single reed like the one from TDR. Also plan to run an electronic ignition, likely MZB.
 
First Vintage Race Inspired Smoker

Was able to kick the wife out of the garage and my workspace back. That means is back to work on this beast. Swapped the frame, swapped the triple tree and I'm back to where I was 6 months ago. Hopefully progress will keep moving now.

First Vintage Race Inspired Smoker

Hoodcats came over and we started moving forward. The shock mounts had been ground off so we welded some temporary mounts for mock up.

Got the new front caliber installed and working on some spacers for the disk.

Sat on the bike to get an idea of riding position for the seat and rearsets. My original rearset brackets won't work with the longer tank, going to have to design some from scratch.

Been awhile, but the project isn't dead yet. Blasted the heads and jugs, getting ready for some motor assymbly

Used some Eastwood paint, never tried their high temp stuff but I use to use a lot of their stuff when I did volkswagens and it always was top notch. It laid down really well and worked well in my gun. Hopefully it holds up as well.

This bikes name is brad, it hasn't gone through enough tanks or taken long enough yet... I'll wait till you have 1 done before I worry about finishing this one

Front brake is mocked up, mothgils cut me a rotor spAcer, brad supplied the rotor, eBay the caliber, and doc the bracket.. Quite the mix, doubt it'll last
