I'm replacing the fork oil seals and looking at the Owners Manual for the amount and type of oil to refill the forks. At the beginning of the chapter (under "Front Fork Oil Change") it says to refill the fork with 155cc - but it does not mention what kind of oil.

Later on in the chapter (under "Filling with Oil") it says to fill the front fork with "172.5 - 177.5cc at assembly" with ATF.

Which do I follow?

ATF will work, unless you want to be more prescriptive on suspension performance, then you can use different weights of fork oil.

Usually, you would remove the spring and compress the fork fully, then fill with oil to ~140mm from the top. Different oil weights and levels can help you tune suspension.
