A little update on tune for this bike. I bought the TM34 carbs with a 200 main jet and 40 idle jet. I fouled the hell out of the plugs with the air mix screw at 3 turns out, running a P4 needle jet with the clip in the middle slot on the needle. You could give it gas from maybe 1/4 throttle up and it would bog like hell and eventually get some steam above 4 or 5k. So, I swapped all the way to the other end with a 130 main jet, moved the clip to the #2 slot on the needle, and went down to 2 turns on the air mix. So far, so good. It made quite a difference and seems to do what it's supposed to. This is all without a dyno, of course. I order jets from 145 - 175, and O4 needle jets. We'll play with the tune and see if I can find the sweet spot. All goes to show I need to find a Dyno to buy some time on tune.
